The illustrations shown here were applied to a "fish wheel" for Maui Ocean Center which was targeted at children. The wheel is spun to match the tail, middle sections, and heads of the fish (click on image to see the final fish wheel). When I went to photograph the wheel, I found people of all ages were compelled to give it a whirl. Fish with long bodies were chosen to fit the format, and each section was placed on the wheel so when one fish lines up correctly, the other sections remain unmatched. The digital illustrations are simple representations of the five fish.
