For Mele Carroll's 2004 Maui County Council campaign, a full print and advertising campaign was needed. Elements from the full color county wide mailer, rack card, and "friend to friend" postcards were all designed using a Carroll family tapa design, colors and photography to relate to family life and ties. For her direct mail piece, aerial photos of Maui in her district (Keanae and Hana) were a backdrop to portraits with her constituents as they related to her campaign positions and past achievements. The resulting green and blue color schemes portray the calming feelings of Hawaii.
